It has been awhile since we have posted! It is now a New Year. We have all seen or heard the memes for this year like, “2021 means 2020
won!” or that “2022 will be version 2 of 2020,” but we as Christians have
something to look forward to this year, 365 days of it too! Let us look in the Bible
in Lamentations, yes, Lamentaions 3:21-25.
and therefore I
have hope:
his mercies never
come to an end;
23 they are new every morning;
great is your
faithfulness.
24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will
hope in him.”
to the soul who
seeks him.
The last time we wrote we where at the very beginning of the
Fall quarter at the Seminary, and we had celebrated Dalton’s 4 birthday. October
came bringing with it it’s bright colors of fall! And at the beginning of the
month my birthday! (I think I have lost count) and then I ended the month by
giving everyone a good scare! I had an emergency appendectomy. My parents had
been planning on coming out to help with finals week anyway, so they just drove
out the next day and spent a lot of quality time with me just letting my body
heal. We finished the fall quarter even with the emergency.
November held more fun surprises for us. I was exposed to COVID so I worked from home for awhile. We had our first snow in November also.
The winter quarter started three weeks before Christmas break. We had three weeks off Seminary. We traveled to Oklahoma to visit with family. We returned to Fort Wayne and tried to get back into a routine only to have the kids school go to online learning because of COVID exposure to all their staff! We had to call in reinforcements, and Nana (Bryan’s Mom) drove all the way out here to stay with us a little over two weeks! What a blessing! She did such an amazing job with the kids!
We are now in the last 4 weeks of the winter quarter, and we are dragging a bit. But we keep pushing on. Rory is in ice skating lessons (part of her Christmas present) and Dalton and I get to skate at the end of the lessons with her! We have really enjoyed getting out and doing something active during these freezing times.
We look forward to the spring quarter with anticipation when we will find out where we are headed for vicarage (the Seminary assigns Bryan
to a church somewhere in the US for one year to gain experience) on April 26!
Enjoying all the snow!

Great memories we made again in 2020! I thought it was a wonderful year and it looks like this year is going to be a great one too. Love looking back at the last few months that have zoomed by. God's blessings to going forward! Love Mom and Dad Payne
