These past couple months have been a busy blur. Between the Spring Quarter Seminary classes being taught online and Rory doing online schooling and having a three year old in the home. We did find time to do a couple projects! Our first Spring project was our garden! My parents drove up to stay with us during finals week to help with the kids so we could study and take our tests without as much worry. It was amazing! Thank you so much for that! After finals we started our garden expansion project.
First we laid out the rope where we thought we liked it.
Bryan spray painted the line.
These next two are the before boulder pictures.
Boulder delivery day! So much excitement with the kids!
One dropped into place.
The larger one we wanted closer to the house of course. The delivery guy did amazing!
The last of the three went beside the first one.
Now that the fun easy part was done we did the hardest part... removing the grass to the new spray painted line. It was hot, Dad and I started the project while Bryan was prepping for the next big project (see post to come), but he returned at the right time when Dad and I where too tired to complete it. But it did get it scalped that day!
Lining the garden with more rock... can you tell we like rocks?
We made a trip down south to visit our Fort Wayne parents, the Selkings. Pam dug us up all kinds of goodies for our garden project!
But before we plant we line with weed barrier...
The downspout dry river bed creation.
...and cover with mulch.
I did dig up quite a few things and gave them away, don't worry we still have lots in the garden!
The new plants being positioned.
Working on the dry river bed.
The mostly completed look.
Visiting gold finches.
One of my co-workers, Tom, at the school, has a fun hobby of creating garden art! Bryan ended up at his home for that other project that we where to begin later on and bought me this beautiful butterfly!
I love the butterfly but a couple days later Tom comes into work telling me he had this new garden art piece done and asks if I would like to see it. Of course I said yes and he brings in these beautiful birds, and I say, "oh, it is beautiful, have you already sold it?" He of course replies, "yes, I have... to a guy named Bryan!" He then hands it to me! Those guys!
You really should check out his facebook page.
Thanks Tom and Bryan!
